Simply hold down the eco button on the left side of your dashboard to turn off the eco mode on your Jeep. Simply because the engine is not cold does not imply that stop/start systems are as dangerous as cold starts. If the engine is turned off for a long time enough to significantly reduce engine temperatures, it will automatically restart.
3 posts · Joined 2011. #1 · Aug 24, 2020. My friend just received his 2021 X5 and it appears BMW has completely removed the button to control the Auto Start Stop feature of the engine. Meaning it is always in the auto stop condition and cannot be switched to always on, My friend confirmed this with his BMWGenius. This is very disappointing.
There are many ways to disable it. I simply compiled a few of the most common to explain to new users. 1) Unplug the connector on the negative battery terminal. This is a viable short term option, but this connection is for the Battery Monitoring System. Unplugging it disables the BMS, and in turn, the A.S.S.
In other words, will hitting the auto stop-start button in the cockpit: Disable auto stop-start until the next ignition cycle, such as on the ATS, CTS and CT6, or; Disable auto stop-start more permanently, as is the case with auto stop-start controls on BMW and Mercedes-Benz vehicles, where depressing the button to turn off auto stop-start
A simple solution is get in car turn on ignition press stop start button and sorted. I find it useful as a lot of my stops are for a while and I guess it does help the environment. When I don't want it to kick in then I keep my foot on clutch. Guess it is not so easy when you are using the as a driving instructor.
